Our new Waltraud Winery in Pacs del Penedès was built following the principles of bioclimatic architecture.
The building respects the natural lines of the terrain, with a first underground level where barrels of estate wine rest and age.
The garden roofs featuring local vegetation and a better use of rain contribute to the minimum consumption of energy and water. The fine white sand covering the building creates a considerable albedo effect which helps keep heating within the winery to a minimum.
In addition, the installation of a solar tree generates sufficient energy to light everything without resorting to electricity.
